A couple of weeks ago I was asked by one of my best mate’s to be the best man at his wedding. Of course, I accepted, but then came a few requests…
Can you be the official photographer? “Sure, why not” I relied…
Can we use your LE as the wedding car? “Absolutely!” I said… and then realised, that was probably the only reason I was asked!
One small snag, the tyres on the old girl were a bit long in the tooth, so I raced off to the Bridgestone Tyres store in Preston for a chat.
“I need some 14 inch tyres”, I asked…
“We’ve got heaps, what’s the car?” was the reply.
I hate to trumpet the fact I own an LE, so I said quietly… “It’s an old holden”.
“Model?” asks Bridgestone man.
“It’s an old HX Limited edition coupe”
“F*&K OFF! You’re kidding! We’ve just taken delivery of some 340 Eagers! Bridgestone are making them again because those old cars are back in town!”
“Ok, ok! I’ll take them” I said, then added… “By the way, how much are they?”
I walked out $960 bucks poorer, but they do look fine.
I wasn’t sure whether to go with the white writing on the inside or outside. I went for the outside.
I’ll post some shots soon…
